Technical Committees
The technical work of PIARC for 2008-2011 is centered on five strategic themes:
- Sustainability of the Road Transport System
- Improving Provision of Services
- Safety of the Road System
- Quality of Road Infrastructure
- Terminology and Translation Assistance
Centered on these themes, 20 technical committees are working on various road and road transport matters. These committees are tasked with producing reports on best practices and making recommendations in their respective fields, thereby providing assistance to decision makers, road engineers and research engineers. The committees are made up of technical experts appointed by member countries. They meet, on average, twice a year, between congresses. This gives them the opportunity to discuss and report on their work program. CNC members represent Canada on PIARC technical committees.
